Part of becoming a “women of wonder” is cultivating an attitude of gratitude. Why is that so important?
“When you are in a state of appreciation and gratitude, you are in a state of abundance. You are appreciating what you do have instead of focusing on and complaining about what you don’t have. Your focus is on what you have received, and you always get more of what you focus on. And because the law of attraction states that like attracts like, you will attract more abundance – more to be thankful for – to you. (The more you are in a state of gratitude, the more you will attract to be grateful for.) It becomes an upward-spiraling process of ever-increasing abundance that just keeps getting better and better.” ~~ “The Success Principles” by Jack Canfield
Negative life stuff happens to all of us. It’s what we do with it that counts. What good does it do to whine and complain and stay in a mode of worry, upset and defeat? It does us no good at all as it will only keep us on a downward-spiraling path attracting more of the same. Who wants that?? I certainly don’t.
The Bible tells us to be thankful in all things for good reason. It also says the following for equally good reason:
“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious – the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” Philippians 4:8,9 The Message
Attracting and creating more abundance in our lives is all about changing our mindset. Start by cultivating an attitude of gratitude and let it begin right here.
I invite you to use this post as a place to express your gratitude at any time as many times as you want. Let this be a journal to God and His universe as it creates an “upward-spiraling process of ever-increasing abundance that just keeps getting better and better.” And the glory will be all His!

I am grateful I have a roof over my head and nutritious food to eat.

Awesome post, gratitude is everything! Thanks for the inspiration you pay forward everyday!
Tonight I am grateful for my dear husband who has been taking care of me for a few days since I’ve been under the weather…he brought me soup, sprite, Tylenol…..and lots of love! I woke up this morning to a clean house and didn’t have to lift a finger (very rare in our home). My 16 year old helped too. I usually take care of my “guys” but when I can’t….they take care of me.
I am also grateful for my dear online friends, both new and old. I have been online for 10 or so years and have met some remarkable people along the way. I am especially grateful for this wonderful group and the inspiration that I get from other members.
~Hugs!
I am grateful that my daughter is safe & healthy. She is going though some medical issues, lost her job, then her car broke down last nite, and it was towed here. She is safe, has unemployment, and our car to use when we can until we can figure out what is wrong & the cost!
I’ve been in a fog for days now & my brain has been all knotted up thinking too much. Today it lifted. I am sooo thankful for that. I’m thankful for all the people in my life who are showing me where I need to grow … digging out the junk that’s holding me back.
I’m also very thankful for all the beautiful wonder women in my life. Thanks for making my life richer! =)
Today I have much to be grateful for. I was stuck in a rut for a long time…not that I’m not stuck anymore, life just keeps presenting new and unique opportunities for me. I feel very blessed and am very appreciative of each person in my life.
I really do feel like a Wonder Woman today…
Thanks for having a spot for us to post our gratitude, Shileen!
I am grateful for all the wonderful friends I have both online and off. There is a woman in a nearby community that just had a baby girl weighing 5 lbs 8 oz and she has nothing for her child. Long story short, I posted to a few select friends about helping this young mother. My friend, Tiffany, Owner of Pampered Pregger & Beyond is taking donations for this young woman…and she has many resources that I do not.
It does my heart good to see others reaching out to help in a time of need. Tiffany and her husband just lost their home to a gas leak not long ago, she is living in a motel room and working on a laptop for now, but doesn’t slow down when she knows someone is in need.
Shileen, thanks again for having a wonderful place for us to come, open up and show what we are grateful for! ~Hugs!
I am greatful that my rides to and from Oil City are over for the weekend! My kids and their friend had a great time and can’t wait to do another retreat.
I am grateful for peace of mind tonight as I have just weathered a storm. I’m thankful for my willingness to grow. I now know that I need to set particular boundaries due to new responsibilities in my life. God is so good!
Today is a beautiful day! How thankful I am for that. I just had a fabulous personal training session at the gym. My body is getting stronger and my shoulder is doing so much better. I am thankful for the abundance this day is giving and for the special visitation from the One who calls me by name. =)
